July 23, 2008Best Of Buzznet: The Painters And SketchersI wasn't exactly sure how to phrase the title of this one. I also didn't know what to say about anyone that could really sum up their brilliance. But then again, their work speaks for itself:
You all amaze me :)

July 22, 2008Best Of Buzznet: The Writers
This is the first of three journals I am going to be posting about my favorite artists on Buzznet. I thought I'd start with the writers, because the first thing I posted on Buzznet was a Fall Out Boy fan fiction and the writing was also why I joined this marvelous website. Here are my favorite writers on Buzznet:
POETRY
HyperBallad13 Sarah can write about anything and make it sound beautiful. She truly has a way with words that awes and inspires anyone who reads her poetry. Here is one of my favorite poems of hers: This Town Will Breathe Tonight KasperObscene Sometimes, there are no words to describe somebody's brilliance. So just read this: On Who I Was, Who I Became, And Who I Am GuitarGrl13 Karmela is a wonderful writer and her poems are very expressive and honest. Here is my favorite: I Hate The Way... JOURNALS XBlanksFace Sara is one of the best writer's EVER. Her journals are always interesting, entertaining, and downright awesome! Heart's On My Sleeve. Take a look: Rap & Rock And Roll: A Match Made In Heaven OunceOfWentz John is the bees knees. Everyone knows that. And by now, everyone should know that his journals are one of the best things about Buzznet. How To Pick Someone Up At A Rollerskating Rink FAN FICTION I had trouble choosing my favorite fan fiction authors for this, because there are just so many! For now, here are the links to my top ten. I might add links to my favorite stories later, but my internet is acting up and the pages are all taking a long time to load. July 21, 2008EEEK!
So, I have been saving up for a new camera for a while now and I think
tomorrow I am actually going to get to buy it! I'm super excited! Hopefully, I will be able to post some of the new photos tomorrow :) The best thing is, this camera has 8 megapixels compared to the 5 the camera I am currently using has, so I will be able to take close-ups without it blurring and looking like a big smudge. YAY!

Artscape
Yesterday, I unexpectedly went to Baltimore for an arts festival called
ARTSCAPE, which is why I wasn't on much of Sunday. I know I said I was
doing a special journal soon and I am still working on it...could
anyone tell me how to make a hyperlink work inside a journal? It won't
work with me, which sucks :(
Anyways, I took a bazillion pictures of Baltimore while I was there and will post them soon. Have a lovely day!

July 18, 2008Batman Officially Rocks: A Review Of The Dark Knight
When I was five, I had an obsession with Batman that bordered on being
unhealthy. I remember that my friend had a reversable cape-Superman on
one side, Batman on the other-and I would always put it on the wrong
side so that it looked like I was Superman, which bothered me
constantly. I also had a pair of Batman pajamas and wore them
everywhere: to the library, to the grocery store...everywhere possible.
The obsession with this superhero slowly died down until I became interested in other things, such as dragons or dinosaurs, or Star Wars. My obsession with this so-called 'Dark Knight' has just been re-kindled, after sitting through two and a half hours on nx action and adventure. The follow up to 'Batman Begins', which was a pretty dull in my opinion, is a superhero movie done right. It stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne AKA Batman, a billionare playboy trying to save the dying city of Gotham and fight the evil Joker, played by the late Heath Ledger. Oh, and while he's trying to save the city, he's also pining after Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal), who is dating Gotham's D.A, Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart). The Joker is one of the best villians ever to be created, and Heath Ledger did a brilliant job bringing him to life. What's so scary about the Joker is that you do not know why he is so intent on destroying lives. He isn't in it for the money-he proves this by burning a pile of it stolen from a bank. So, why does he enjoy being so terrible? Batman's right hand man, Alfred Pennyworth (Michael Caine), is the only one who dares to guess: "Some men just want to watch the world burn." It was an incredible movie and I would give it full marks if it wasn't so damn sappy in the last twenty minutes. So, I will give it four and a half stars and hope that you will all go and see it despite my horribly written review.

July 15, 2008Special project :)It was this month that I discovered the wonderful world of Buzznet. Although I didn't join until I few months later, I think that discovery is even more magical than creating an account. In honor of that, I will be doing something special tomorrow in journal-form. Look out!

Are The Academy Is... COPYCATS?!?!
So, I was reading an issue of Alternative Press magazine when something
caught my eye. It was an ad for 'The Sincerities EP' by The Method To
My Medium. Maybe it's just me, but the cover looks strikingly similiar
to that of the new TAI album, 'Fast Times At Barrington High'. Take a

July 13, 2008Sightseeing
A/N: So, I was listening to the
Gym Class Heroes song 'Taxi Driver', which inspired me to write a
similar song in which I reference a bunch of bands. I wanted to add in
the Raconteurs and the Greenhornes but it was a little harder to find
places for them in the lyrics. See if you can name all of the bands!
Sightseeing
We all needed a change of scenery So, we decided to spend a weekend in the city. I said, 'that sounds good to me', 'Cause the weather was supposed to be quite pretty. Somehow we found the metro station But got seperated due to lack of communication We agreed to meet in midtown, Hoping we could find our way around. All of us, minus the bear, Took a cab to get to the fair Where we watched the mayday parade And ended up staying to watch the fireworks fade. We got into a club, but only because we lied But then we found out there was a fire inside! There was a whole lot of panic at the disco And so we had to go. The next day we went to the zoo A tiger army attacked me and I was bleeding through But I was saved by a zebra with white stripes And all anyone could say was 'cripes!'

Anyone Else But You, 5
A/N: Wow, I am such a dork. I
have way too much fun writing this story. I bet Patrick is a whole lot
cooler than I give him credit for…but I love making him a geek! Anyhow,
here is chapter 5! ENJOY!
Do you know what I’m seeing?
Esra couldn’t believe it was the last week of the tour already. She was rooting through her suitcase to find something nice to wear that night, because they were all going out for dinner-except for Mark, who had decided to meet up with some friends-and since this show was in Nashville, Tennessee, Karen, Brittany, and Kelly were meeting them. For the most part of the tour, she had just worn jeans and t-shirts, but she was sick of those and decided to wear a dress. It seemed that the others felt no need to dress up though: Jack was wearing his favorite pair of plaid pants with a black t-shirt, LJ was wearing a suit, but that was normal for him, Brendan was wearing jeans and a paisley long-sleeve button down, and Patrick was wearing jeans and a t-shirt with the ever-present seahorse vest. She felt a bit ridiculous, even though their clothes were sillier than hers. “You look nice,” Patrick said. “Thanks. So do you,” Esra replied, smiling at him. There was a pause. “PATRICK AND ESRA SITTING IN A TREE, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!” Brendan sang loudly, causing them to blush immaturely. “Shut up,” Esra told him, laughing in spite of herself. “FIRST COMES LOVE, THEN COMES MARRIAGE-” Brendan continued, before Jack hit him over the head with a copy of the days paper. “Ouch.” Brendan said. “Serves you right,” Jack told him. “Okay, can we go now? I would like to be excused from this childish behavior,” LJ said. They left the bus and walked to the restaurant. It was very crowded, but they eventually found their table and saw that Karen, Kelly, and Brittany were already there. While LJ, Brendan, and Jack greeted their loved ones, Esra stood there with Patrick feeling awkward. “Too bad this isn’t an Irish restaurant,” Patrick remarked. “Yeah, I’m pretty disappointed that we’re not having heaping helpings of meat and potatoes along with some Guiness,” Esra said sarcastically. After exchanging ‘hello’s with Karen, Kelly, and Brittany, she sat down, with Brendan on her left side and Patrick on her right. They all told stories about funny things that had happened on tour, and everyone laughed when Patrick told the story of getting chased out of the mall by the security guard. “That was on my life list though,” he said. “What was?” Brendan asked. “To be chased by a security guard,” Patrick answered. “What else is on your life list?” Esra asked. “Well…before I die, I want to win a pie-eating contest and tame a lion, but that’s pretty much all,” Patrick replied thoughtfully. “Good luck with that,” Brendan said. “Oh, and I also want to own a house with a bowling alley and an alligator shaped swimming pool!” Patrick exclaimed. Esra laughed, wondering if he meant to act so funny or was he just like that? Either way, it was adorable. She found herself talking to Brendan for a long time about the Kinks and debating over which Beatle’s album was the best, but by the time dinner had ended and the restaurant was about to close, they still couldn’t decide. They were playing three more dates in America before Esra went her own way and the Raconteurs started their tour of Europe, so they had to leave the city before it got too late. Karen and Kelly both said goodbye to Esra, but Brittany barely waved. Esra wondered if she had said something offensive subconsciously, but she didn’t remember even really speaking to Brittany in the first place, besides saying hello. She lagged back so she could walk beside Patrick, and decided to ask him about it. “Did I do something wrong? Brittany doesn’t seem to like me very much,” she said. “Maybe she thinks you like Brendan,” Patrick replied, shrugging. “What? Why in the world would she think that?” Esra asked, surprised. “Well, you were talking to him for most of the night,” Patrick answered. Was that a hint of jealousy in his voice? “Just because I was talking to him doesn’t mean I like him,” Esra said. “Do you?” Patrick asked bluntly. “Uh, no, I like someone else,” Esra mumbled. She blushed, furious at herself. Could that have been anymore obvious sounding? “Oh, yeah? Who?” Patrick asked curiously. “Um…Mickey Mouse,” Esra replied hastily. He laughed, but she couldn’t bring herself to. She had just blown her one chance to tell him that he was the ‘someone else’ before the tour ended. When they got back to the bus, they took turns brushing their teeth in the miniscule bathroom, which was too small to fit more than two people at a time, and then they all fell asleep, exhausted even though they hadn’t even had to play a show that night. The next morning, Esra found a card lying on the floor by her bed with a pencil illustration of Mickey Mouse on the front. On the inside, it said, ‘Dear Esra, Will you marry me? Love, Mickey.’

Anyone Else But You, 4
A/N: Double post! Maybe even
triple post, if I can find the time to write out the fifth chapter.
Wow, this has gone quickly. I don’t know how many chapters this story
is going to have. I’d like to have it be at least thirteen, but we’ll
see. I finally posted chapter four of my other Raconteurs fanfic, ‘Blue
Veins’, so check that out if you haven’t already. I should post the
links to the previous chapters, but I am too lazy…feel free to berate
me. Anyhow, here is the FOURTH chapter…ENJOY!
Mad As Rabbits
Patrick was starving. He had neglected breakfast and it was a quarter after three in the afternoon. Brendan and Jack had gone to some record store they had heard was excellent and Mark had gone to see ‘Iron Man’ with LJ. Esra was sitting on the couch, typing something on her laptop and he wasn’t sure if he should bother her or not, but he didn’t want to eat lunch by himself. “Hey, Esra?” he said. “Yeah?” she replied, not taking her eyes off the computer screen. “I was going to go and get lunch, would you like to come with me?” he asked. “Sure,” Esra replied, closing the laptop and standing up. “Hey, where’s everybody else?” she added, looking around. “Jack and Brendan went record shopping, and Mark went with LJ to go and see ‘Iron Man’. They probably ended up going to see ‘Sex And The City’ though,” Patrick answered. Esra laughed, tying the laces of her Converse sneakers. “Okay, let’s go,” she said, opening the bus door. They walked down the sidewalk and Patrick saw a few fans waiting around the venue, but they didn’t notice the two of them as they passed by, or if they did, they didn’t say anything. “So, where are we going?” Esra asked. “I have no idea. I’m not very familiar with Chicago. I think we’re right near a mall though, so there’s probably a bunch of restaurants in there. What kind of food do you like?” Patrick replied. “Um…I like everything, pretty much. Except for Irish cuisine,” Esra said. “Hey, don’t be hatin’ on the Irish cuisine!” Patrick exclaimed. “What, are you Irish?” Esra asked, grinning. “Yeah!” Patrick said. “Me, too, actually. My dad was Irish, anyway,” Esra replied. “Well, we’ll rule out the Irish food. How about pizza?” Patrick asked. “That sounds great,” Esra answered. “Cool. Oh, that must be the mall. I bet there’s pizza in there,” Patrick said. They went through the revolving glass doors and found themselves in one of the most crowded places in Chicago. People rushed by them, accidentally whacking them with overstuffed shopping bags. Careful not to lose each other, they made their way through the labyrinth of people to a relatively empty Dominoes. “What kind of pizza do you want?” Patrick asked. “Um…just cheese,” Esra replied. “Okay. You can sit down if you want, I’ll order for both of us,” Patrick offered. “Thanks,” Esra said, smiling at him. He got pizza and drinks and they ate, discussing random events of the tour. “Um, I can pay you back for lunch,” Esra said as they left Dominoes. “No, it’s okay,” Patrick replied. “Are you sure?” Esra asked. “Yeah,” Patrick said. “Thanks,” Esra told him. “No problem,” Patrick replied, grinning at her. “I’ve always wanted to walk up the down escalator,” Esra said, looking at the row of escalators leading two the second level of the mall. “Well, now’s your chance,” Patrick told her. “Seriously? Don’t people get kind of pissed off at you if you do stuff like that?” Esra asked. “Who cares? If you’ve always wanted to do it, then I say you should. Besides, there’s absolutely nobody on that escalator right now. I’ll even go with you,” Patrick said. “Okey-dokey,” Esra said. They began walking up the escalator, which was very hard to do, but almost got half way up when they heard someone yelling. “Hey! Hey, no walking up the down escalator!” a security guard shouted. He began running up after them, still yelling. Patrick took Esra’s hand and ran up the remaining stairs with her before going down the proper escalator and navigating them through the maze of people. The guard was still following them, and they hastily went through the revolving doors. Patrick accidentally went through twice and when he got out, Esra was laughing at him. “Wow, that was scary,” Patrick remarked, breathing rather hard as they put some distance between themselves and the angry mall guard. “It was. That guard was such a hypocrite though. He told us not to walk up the down escalator and then he did it himself,” Esra said. “At least you go to do something you’ve wanted to do for a long time,” Patrick pointed out. “True,” Esra agreed. “Hey, thanks for coming with me,” Patrick said, somewhat shyly. “Thanks for inviting me. I had a lot of fun,” Esra told him. “So did I.” Patrick said, smiling. Holy mackerel, Esra was gorgeous.

Anyone Else But You, 3
A/N: Sorry about the wait. I
don’t know why I am using only Panic At The Disco lyrics for story
titles, but I have been listening to Pretty. Odd. A lot lately, and
these just seemed to fit. After you’re done reading this chapter, look
out for the next chapter of this story! I will try and post more of
Blue Veins later in the week as well, but I can’t make any promises…
I know the world’s a broken bone, but melt your headaches and call it home
Esra was exhausted. The tour had been going on for two weeks, and although she enjoyed performing, she was beginning to enjoy napping even more. A typical day seemed to go like this: wake up, eat breakfast with her bleary-eyed tour mates, do interviews with local papers, set up equipment at venue, do a sound check, eat an early dinner or a late lunch, say hello to fans, play show, sleep. The day had pretty much gone to the dogs on account of it starting badly. She, Jack, Patrick, Brendan, LJ, and Mark-a touring member for the Raconteurs who played keyboards and violin for them on stage-had woken up to a large crash from the tiny kitchenette and when they had gone to see what it was, they discovered that the cabinets opened while the bus had taken a wide turn and all of the dry food had spilled out. It took nearly an hour to clean up all the cereal and chips and everything else. Then, during her set, the amp blew out so she was forced to finish the show playing acoustic guitar and singing with a barely audible voice. Those two things would have been fine, but tripping on an electrical cord while leaving the stage was just the icing on the cake. Thankfully, she was able to break her fall somewhat with her hands, but her wrists stung with pain and her face burned with embarrassment as she stood up and left, trying not to cry. She didn’t stop to talk to anyone, just went straight out to the bus and sat on her bed, tears running down her face. “Esra? Are you okay?” Patrick called from the front of the bus. She didn’t answer, hoping he would just leave her alone. It was humiliating enough that she had fallen down on stage, but now she was crying uncontrollably. He walked in the bedroom door and sat down next to her. “Esra? What’s wrong?” he asked quietly. “Everything! The whole day has been completely rotten!” Esra exclaimed, covering her face with her hands. “How so?” Patrick asked. “Well, not the whole day, but in case you didn’t notice, I just fell on my face in front of the audience in there!” Esra replied, feeling pathetic. “Actually, I didn’t notice. I’m sure it was embarrassing, but guess what? Everyone has embarrassing moments from time to time, and by tomorrow, the only person who will remember that happening is you, if you keep focusing on it,” Patrick said. Esra didn’t say anything as the tears continued to fall. “I’m sorry for acting so stupid over one little thing,” she mumbled. “Don’t worry about it,” Patrick replied. He put an arm around her shoulders in a comforting way and pulled her closer to him. Without thinking, Esra turned and buried her face in his chest, trying to stop crying so much. “Patrick?” Jack said, poking his head in the room. “Yeah?” Patrick answered, taking his arm off of Esra abruptly. “We’re on in just a minute,” Jack told him. “Oh, okay. I’ll be right there,” Patrick said. Jack nodded and left the room, leaving Esra and Patrick by themselves again. “Are you alright now?” Patrick asked. “Yes, thanks,” Esra replied, managing a smile. “Good. Um…I should probably go now,” Patrick said. “Okay. Sorry for crying on your shirt,” Esra apologized. “That’s alright,” Patrick shrugged. “I’ll see you after the show, I guess,” he added, waving. “Cool. Bye,” Esra told him. “Oh, and we can play Candyland!” she said. “Awesome. See you,” Patrick replied, laughing. Well, maybe the day hadn’t been so rotten after all.

July 7, 2008Blue Veins, 4
A/N: Wow, sorry about the wait! I am working on another chapter of ‘Take My Hand And We’ll Jump Out The Window’ to post shortly after this since it is winning the poll I posted recently about which story I should finish first, but I thought I should just post this anyways. Thanks for being patient with me. Oh, I forgot to mention this in previous chapters, but Lilly, Olivia, and Aubrey all live in Nashville. Sorry this chapter kind of sucks and is ridiculously short. Damned writer’s block!!!
Olivia stared at the Coachella t-shirt she had got a month ago at that glorious festival. She was ecstatic for two reasons: Jack had actually called her, and two; he had asked her out for that night. And so right now, she was getting ready for a date with Jack White. It was surreal. However, she was far too nervous to be able to focus on how weird it was that she was going out with one of her favorite musicians of all time. Her clothes seemed terrible all of the sudden. There was nothing that she wanted to wear-not jeans, because she didn’t like how she looked in them, and not a skirt because she didn’t have any tops that matched with her skirts. She supposed that she would have to resort to wearing a dress. There were only three in the closet: a short black one that Lilly had somehow persuaded her to buy for ‘clubbing’ (as if), a blue bridesmaid dress from her cousins wedding, and a simple white summer dress, which she took off the hanger and slipped on. It was nice, not too fancy, and perfect for the hot weather. She didn’t know where they were going for dinner but figured that it would be okay to wear the dress with some yellow flats and jewelry. By the time she had finished picking out earrings and was just putting on some mascara, there was a knock on the door. Olivia felt extremely nervous as she opened the door and saw Jack standing on the front porch, wearing jeans and a blue t-shirt and holding a bouquet of white orchids. “Hi,” he said, smiling at her. “Hi,” Olivia replied, smiling back. “You look lovely. Here, these are for you,” Jack told her, handing her the bouquet. “Thank you,” Olivia said, blushing. “Um, I’m just going to put these in a vase. Would you like to come in?” she asked. “Sure,” Jack replied, following her into the house. Olivia felt insanely shy. She couldn’t even bring herself to say anything to him. It was terribly embarrassing and she hoped that she would be able to find her voice before the evening was over. She found a vase and made sure the flowers had enough water before going back outside with Jack. He opened the passenger seat door of his Ford pick-up for her and she thanked him, feeling uncomfortable. There was something wrong with her. She almost felt like she had to vomit. “Are you all right?” Jack asked, looking at her concernedly. “Yeah, I’m fine,” Olivia replied, trying to convince herself. “Um, so, where would you like to go for dinner?” Jack asked. “Oh, anywhere’s fine,” Olivia said, shrugging. “Do you like Mexican food? There’s a really great Mexican restaurant not too far from here,” Jack said. “That sounds good,” Olivia replied, managing a smile. There was a pause. “So…how have you been?” Jack asked. “Oh, pretty good. How about you?” Olivia replied. “Fine. We finally finished the tour, which is a relief. I love touring, but it gets tiring,” Jack said. Olivia nodded, not knowing what else to say. Suddenly, she felt her stomach turn over. This was not good at all. “Are you sure you’re okay?” Jack asked. “Um, actually, I feel rather sick. I’m so sorry, but do you think you could take me back to my house? I hate to do this, but I just don’t feel well at all,” Olivia said miserably. “Of course. Here, have some water. It’ll help,” Jack replied, handing her a bottle of Deer Park water. “Thanks,” Olivia said. “I’m really sorry,” she told him. “Don’t apologize, Olivia. I’m sorry that you’re not feeling well. Hopefully I can get a rain check on this?” Jack said. “Definitely,” Olivia replied. Jack stopped the car in front of her house and opened the door for her. “I hope you feel better soon,” he said. “Me, too. I’m sorry, again,” Olivia told him. “Don’t worry about it. Good night, Olivia,” Jack said. “Good night, Jack,” Olivia replied, waving and then turning and going inside. That had been the worst first date of her life without a doubt.
